KVR & authorities

Address registration and residence permits are both handled by the Kreisverwaltungsreferat (KVR), which bundles many of these functions under one roof. Booking appointments online well in advance is strongly recommended here too.

Public transport

The MVV (Munich Transport and Tariff Association) connects U-Bahn, S-Bahn, trams and buses across the whole region under one fare system.

Persian community

Job market

Munich is a hub for the automotive industry, mechanical engineering, insurance, financial services and high-tech — salaries here also tend to run higher, which partly offsets the high cost of living.

Practical tip

Given how competitive the housing market is, it's worth starting your apartment search before you even arrive and having all your documents ready (proof of income, Schufa credit report, ID).
